Regular tourist visa:

Regular tourist visas are usually valid for either three or six months, So they are ideal if you plan to stay in India for a longer period. You can mention “traveling”, “sightseeing”, “yoga retreat”, or “recreation” as the purpose of visiting India in the application form. Please avoid the term “study” in your visa application as that might result in the embassy rejecting your regular tourist visa application and asking you to apply for a “Student visa”.
